"The awakened mind..." and so forth corresponds to entering the great city of Śrāvastī. One should say: once the awakened mind is aroused, how could it abandon defiling worldly toil? When the Tathāgata appears in the world, how could he abandon the multitude of beings? Intending to contemplate everywhere, he enters the storehouse of consciousness; intending to teach and transform, he enters the royal city. Apart from cities and towns, whom would one teach and transform? Apart from the mind-consciousness, what thing would one contemplate?
