1.169

如來所得菩提妙果如理而證，離於言說，何故累稱持說功德勝餘布施等福耶？然佛無所證而證、無所說而說，所證所說無不當理，恐善現未達此意，故又告云是真實等語。

The wonderful fruit of bodhi attained by the Tathāgata is realized in accord with the principle and is free from spoken discourse; why then does he repeatedly state that the virtue of upholding and expounding surpasses the merit of other givings and the like? Yet the Buddha realizes without anything realized, and expounds without anything expounded; what is realized and what is expounded never fail to accord with the principle. Fearing that Subhūti had not yet understood this meaning, he therefore told him again of speaking what is true, real, and so forth.
