「復次，須菩提！善男子、善女人受持讀誦此經，若為人輕賤，是人先世罪業應墮惡道，以今世人輕賤故，先世罪業則為消滅，當得阿耨多羅三藐三菩提。」

"Furthermore, Subhūti, if a good man or a good woman who receives, upholds, reads, and recites this scripture is despised by people, because of the past-life sinful karma of this person that ought to have led to a fall into the evil destinies, by virtue of being despised by people in the present life, their past-life sinful karma is eradicated, and they will attain anuttarā samyaksambodhi."
