This explains the dust motes, illustrating by metaphor that the nirmāṇakāya has no separate nature. If one knows that smashing the world into dust motes means the dust motes are completely the world, then dust has no real nature; hence it is said, "then it is not dust motes." Because it is spoken of as dust motes while free from the conceptual imputation of intrinsic nature, it is said: "it is named dust motes." This illustrates that the entire dharma gives rise to the response, and the response is identical to the dharma; how could there be any separate nature?
