1.44

然一經之大要不過善現所問安住大乘、降伏妄心，如來所答修行之法亦不出乎理事二行、破執斷疑而已，具見下文。

However, the great essence of the whole sūtra is nothing other than Subhūti's questions on peacefully abiding in the Mahāyāna and subduing the deluded mind; and the method of cultivation that the Tathāgata replied with also does not go beyond the two practices of principle and phenomena, shattering attachments, and severing doubts, as seen fully in the text below.
