「須菩提！於意云何？須陀洹能作是念：『我得須陀洹果』不？」須菩提言：「不也。世尊！何以故？實無有法名須陀洹。不入色聲香味觸法是名須陀洹。」佛言：「須菩提！於意云何？斯陀含能作是念：『我得斯陀含果』不？」須菩提言：「不也。世尊！何以故？實無有法名斯陀含，是名斯陀含。」「須菩提！於意云何？阿那含能作是念：『我得阿那含果』不？」須菩提言：「不也。世尊！何以故？實無有法名阿那含，是名阿那含。」

"Subhūti, what do you think? Can a srotāpanna form this thought: 'I have attained the fruit of a srotāpanna'?" Subhūti said: "No, World-Honored One. Why is this? In reality there is no dharma named srotāpanna. Not entering form, sound, smell, taste, touch, or dharmas is named a srotāpanna." The Buddha said: "Subhūti, what do you think? Can a sakṛdāgāmin form this thought: 'I have attained the fruit of a sakṛdāgāmin'?" Subhūti said: "No, World-Honored One. Why is this? In reality there is no dharma named sakṛdāgāmin; this is named a sakṛdāgāmin." "Subhūti, what do you think? Can an anāgāmin form this thought: 'I have attained the fruit of an anāgāmin'?" Subhūti said: "No, World-Honored One. Why is this? In reality there is no dharma named anāgāmin; this is named anāgāmin."
