就會正報文中，五眼即為五段，一一段中各有二句可知。所以有此教興，若菩薩不見即無勝能；為答此疑，故文云如來有五眼。能了別諸法，見彼顛倒相畢竟無為，故名五眼。

Within the text converging direct retribution, the five eyes constitute five sections, and within each section there are two clauses, which can be understood. The reason for the arising of this teaching is: if a bodhisattva does not see, then they have no superior capacity; to answer this doubt, the text says the Tathāgata has the five eyes. Being able to discern all dharmas and seeing that those inverted marks are ultimately unconditioned, they are therefore called the five eyes.
