"Subhūti, suppose there were a person whose body was wondrous and great." Subhūti said, "World-Honored One, what the Tathāgata calls a person's body being wondrous and great is not a great body; therefore the Tathāgata calls it a great body." The Buddha said, "Subhūti, a bodhisattva is also like this. If they speak thus: 'I will liberate immeasurable sentient beings,' they are not a bodhisattva." The Buddha said, "Subhūti, what do you think? Is there really a dharma called a bodhisattva?" Subhūti said, "No, World-Honored One. There is truly no dharma called a bodhisattva. Therefore the Buddha says that in all dharmas there is no sentient being, no person, and no one with a life-span."
