The Buddha told Subhūti: "A bodhisattva who sets their mind on anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi should give rise to a mind like this: 'I must deliver all sentient beings to nirvāṇa, causing them to enter the realm of nirvāṇa without remainder.' Having delivered all sentient beings in this manner, there is not a single sentient being who is truly delivered. Why is this? Subhūti, if a bodhisattva has a notion of a sentient being, a notion of a person, or a notion of a life-span, then they are not a bodhisattva. Why is this? Subhūti, in reality there is no dharma named 'one who sets their mind on anuttarā samyaksaṃbodhi.'"
