From "diamond bodhisattva" onwards is the second, explaining the reason for emptiness. Because this bodhisattva attains the samādhi exhausting principle, the one kind of birth and death, defilements, karma, and so forth are all empty. What is called "delusion" refers to the deluded and false mind creating the karma of birth and death; failing to reach the source of the mind is named delusion, which is precisely defilement. "Fruit" is precisely proper retribution. The fruit has birth and extinction, therefore it can be called empty. That "there is the emptiness of the fruit" is because the dependent retribution of the three realms is empty. Furthermore, the emptiness of the fruit refers to the birth and death of transformation being empty. The emptiness of the cause refers to the karma and defilements of the three realms being empty. As for "samādhi exhausting principle", it means that when a bodhisattva attains this samādhi, they penetrate the principle and exhaust the source, reaching the very end of the root of ignorance; hence it is named the samādhi exhausting principle, and so forth.
