From "Good sons" onwards is the second, clarifying the characteristics of emptiness in terms of the absence of hearing and preaching. In the text, the Dharma, the analogy, and their combination can be seen. Hearing and preaching being like space: the Pañcaviṃśatisāhasrikā says, "Hearing is like an illusory person hearing; preaching is like an illusory person preaching; therefore there is no hearing or preaching." Vimalakīrti says, "In preaching the Dharma, there is no preaching and no demonstration; those who hear the Dharma have no hearing and no attainment." "Dharmas are identical with the dharmatā": Vimalakīrti says, "Dharmas are identical with the dharmatā, because they enter all dharmas." Taking this as a parallel for all, they are therefore all thus.
