1.81

次第問居士寶蓋、法淨名等八百人，復問須菩提、舍利弗等五千人，復問彌勒、師子吼等十千人，無能答者。

"In succession, he asked eight hundred people such as the householder Ratnacchattra and Vimalakīrti, then asked five thousand people such as Subhūti and Śāriputra, and further asked ten thousand people such as Maitreya and Siṃhanāda, but none was able to answer."
