From “At that time, Śākyamuni…” onwards is the fourth major section within the chapter: explaining the attainment of benefits. There are six distinct kinds of attaining benefits: first, fifty billion people attain the first bhūmi; second, eight hundred thousand people of the six desire heavens attain the bhūmi of the emptiness of nature, which is on the fourth bhūmi and above; third, the eighteen Brahmā heavens attain anutpattika-kṣānti and dharma-sukha-kṣānti, which are on the seventh bhūmi and above; fourth, “furthermore, bodhisattvas who had previously trained” explains the first bhūmi up to the tenth bhūmi; fifth, spirit kings of the eight classes attaining ten samādhis means the ten kṛtsnāyatanas. Attaining two samādhis means the eight abhibhvāyatanas and eight vimokṣas; or it is said: first, emptiness, and second, signlessness. Also, transforming ghost and spirit bodies to obtain heavenly bodies. Sixth, present members who “were present in this assembly attained faith in intrinsic nature” means the four unshakeable faiths; also, attaining faith in emptiness means entering the first bhūmi; again, the ten faiths are called faith in intrinsic nature, and the gotra and above are called faith in emptiness. From “I now…” onwards is the fifth major section within the chapter: general conclusion. The brief explanation is like this; an extensive explanation cannot be exhausted.
