正說六品為四：上三品明能護般若，第二〈護國〉一品明所護國土已竟，今此品是第三示物供儀令人供養。十六國王聞上說般若得益眾多，內心慶喜散華供養，因以題名，故云散華品。

The six chapters of the correct teaching form four [divisions]: the preceding three chapters explained the prajñā that is able to protect; the second, the single chapter “Protecting the Country,” explaining the kingdom that is protected, has already finished; now this chapter is the third, showing the etiquette of offerings of materials to cause people to make offerings. When the kings of the sixteen kingdoms heard the above exposition of prajñā and obtained abundant benefits, they rejoiced inwardly and scattered flowers as an offering. Taking its title from this, it is called the “Chapter on Scattering Flowers.”
