Fourth, the great assembly, devas, and humans scattering flowers. There are three [parts]: First, they scattered heavenly flowers over Śākyamuni; second, the flowers formed a canopy of purple clouds in the sky, covering the trisāhasra-mahāsāhasra-lokadhātu; third, the devas and humans within the canopy scattered flowers numerous as the sands of the Ganges. These, in terms of external practice, are reverent offerings, and in terms of practice, they are the offering of practice.
