3.80

「而受生三界。何以？故業習果報未壞盡故，順道生故。復以三阿僧祇劫，修八萬億波羅蜜，當得平等聖人地，故住阿毘跋致正位。」

"Yet they take birth in the three realms. Why is this? Because the karmic residues and resultant retributions have not yet been completely destroyed, and because they take birth in accord with the Way. Furthermore, over three asaṃkhyeya kalpas, they cultivate eighty billion pāramitās and will attain the stage of the equal sages; hence they abide in the correct stage of avaivartika."
