"Good sons! When sentient beings as numerous as the sands of the Ganges first generate the mark of faith and cultivate the patience of subduing, they give rise, within the Three Jewels, to the ten minds of the lineage of habituation: the mind of faith, the mind of vigorous progression, the mind of mindfulness, the mind of wisdom, the mind of concentration, the mind of giving, the mind of moral discipline, the mind of protection, the mind of aspiration, and the mind of dedication. In this way a bodhisattva is able to transform sentient beings to a small degree."
