Commentary: Second, explaining the assembly supported by them. There are four kinds: first, immeasurable Buddhas; second, immeasurable bodhisattvas; third, immeasurable monks; fourth, immeasurable assemblies of the eight classes. Now, the eight classes are briefly of three kinds: first, the eight classes of devas, nāgas, and so on, as explained across the sūtras. Second, tradition says that each of the Four Heavenly Kings governs two classes (check the source). Moreover, regarding the eight classes, as fascicle three of the Dīrghāgama states, in the world there are eight classes of assemblies: first, the kṣatriya assembly; second, the brāhmaṇa assembly; third, the householder assembly; fourth, the śramaṇa assembly; fifth, the Four Heavenly Kings assembly; sixth, the Trāyastriṃśa heaven assembly; seventh, Māra's assembly; eighth, Brahmā's assembly. The Yogācārabhūmi explains: 'The eight assemblies all come together.' The so-called eight assemblies largely agree with the Āgama, the Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa, and so forth.
