問：此所知障與嗔麁重二類不同，為俱斷否？答：明所斷者，二類雖殊，非離障外別起無間斷嗔麁重。此無始來與所知障俱，所知障為本，以無間道斷本障故。嗔麁重性與所知障麁重性，解脫道中俱時捨故。

Question: Are these two classes—the cognitive obscuration and the coarseness of anger—severed together, or not? Answer: To explain what is abandoned: although the two classes are distinct, one does not, apart from the obscuration, separately generate an uninterrupted path to sever the coarseness of anger. This [coarseness] has accompanied the cognitive obscuration since beginningless time, with the cognitive obscuration being the root; because the root obscuration is severed by the uninterrupted path, the coarseness of anger and the coarseness of the cognitive obscuration are relinquished simultaneously in the path of liberation.
