1.2

I bow my head to the Unsurpassed Awakened One,
whose essence is all-pervading and whose marks are perfectly luminous,
who manifests bodies numerous as dust and sand,
and whose great compassion is peerless.
The nectar of Dharma he proclaimed,
the pure sūtras,
skillfully rescue all living beings,
profound and immeasurable.
To those abiding in the fruit and the path of the superior fruit,
to the pratyekabuddhas, solitary like a rhinoceros horn or moving in groups,
and to all the noble and ordinary beings of the five kṣāntis,
I now pay homage with complete reverence.
May the power of compassion and wisdom of the Three Jewels
extend protection and leave none unseen.
Now, wishing to praise this true text,
I pray it will long benefit all sentient beings.
