Exposition: The five aggregates and the kṣāntis have the same meanings as explained before. Confronting and observing the five aggregates, one attains the liberation aggregates. That is, observing the faults of one's own body and speech, through the power of volition and vow one prevents and guards against the seven branches and attains morality kṣānti. Next, observing the feeling aggregate falsely producing receptive experiences and fluctuating wildly, through the one-pointedness of concentration one attains concentration kṣānti. Next, observing the perception aggregate apprehending images of enemies and friends, engaging in conceptual proliferation and discrimination to generate names and words, like a painter painting various objects, through the discernment of wisdom one attains wisdom kṣānti. Next, observing the karmic formations aggregate producing various karmas of the three realms of existence that bind one to saṃsāra, through wisdom one is separated from bonds and attains liberation and mastery, attaining liberation kṣānti. Next, observing the consciousness aggregate falsely discriminating, generating views and grasping at the six sense-objects, through non-discriminating wisdom one attains liberation and purity, attaining liberation knowledge-and-vision kṣānti. Therefore, confronting the five aggregates, one attains the liberation aggregates. This is established according to the sequence of conventional speech. In terms of the real meaning, non-discriminating wisdom observes that the five aggregates are empty, and in every single thought-moment all five kṣāntis are fully possessed. Second from here is confronting and observing the three kṣāntis.
