As for the difference in the time of severance: when the uninterrupted path arises, the seeds of the obscuration are already absent, yet one has not yet relinquished that unpliant nature. To relinquish this, the path of liberation arises. When the path of liberation arises, it is not only for this, but also to realize the unconditioned [state] of analytical cessation of this grade. Thus the unpliant nature ceases simultaneously with the uninterrupted path, and the attainment of the realization of the unconditioned arises simultaneously with the path of liberation. The two obscurations abandoned on the ten grounds, the severing of seeds, the severing of habit-energy, and the uninterrupted [path] and [path of] liberation that are the paths capable of severing, should all be understood according to this. From here, the second [part] explains the cultivation while abiding in the ground. Within this there are two: first, cultivating the ten good courses of action.
