The śramaṇa Liangbi states: Having humbly received the imperial decree on the eleventh day of the second month of this year, ordering me to compile and compose a commentary on the newly translated Prajñā Sūtra of the Benevolent Kings in the South Peach Garden within the palace. A petty monk of meager learning, I feared failing to fulfill the imperial will. Purifying my mind and calming my thoughts, I knocked on silence to seek sound. Illumination began with heavenly words, and protection relied on the Buddha's power. Uniformly following the sūtras and treatises to expound the True Vehicle, it was like gathering myriad jades at Mount Kunlun or taking in great rivers into the vast sea: fire arising from wood shines brightly along with the seven luminaries, and consciousness transforming into wisdom equally illuminates with identical nature. That which accomplishes the path is the Dharma; that which conveys the Dharma is the sūtra; that which explains the sūtra is the commentary—widely delivering all beings, identical to great penetration. This bodhicitta accords with Your Majesty's will. Having respectfully completed the transcription on the eighth day of this month, the text exceeds ten thousand words and consists of three fascicles. In its application, I am secretly ashamed of my foolish views, and its composition falls short of the imperial grace. Together with one fascicle of Dhāraṇī Recitation Rituals and one fascicle of the Imperial Audience Records of the Lecture on the Ghanavyūha Sūtra at the Chengming Hall, they are now presented together. Light dust before the profound mirror, I am overwhelmed with awe. I respectfully present this memorial to report and submit them. The śramaṇa Liangbi, with sincere joy and sincere fear, respectfully speaks.
