四、隱劣顯勝。心及心所俱能變現，但說唯心，非唯心所，心王體勝，所劣依王，隱劣不彰，唯顯勝法，故慈氏說：

Fourth: concealing the inferior and revealing the superior. Mind and mental factors are both capable of transforming and manifesting, yet it is only called 'mind-only' and not 'mental-factor-only'. The substance of the mind-king is superior, while mental factors are inferior and rely on the king; concealing the inferior so it is not displayed, one reveals only the superior dharma. Therefore Maitreya says:
