2.59

贊曰：勝空者言，上無遠觀，下無近觀，此無獨覺隣近所觀，故契經言，為求獨覺者說應十二緣起法。又說，無明乃至老死唯有假名，自性空故今說為無。盡者，空也，空亦空故，說無無明盡乃至無老死盡。十二緣起有、空俱無，例餘皆爾，今影顯之。

The commentary says: The Superior-Emptiness proponent says: Above, there was no distant contemplation; below, there was no proximate contemplation. Here, there is no proximate object of contemplation for pratyekabuddhas; hence a sūtra states that for those seeking the pratyekabuddha [vehicle], he taught the corresponding Dharma of the twelve links of dependent origination. Furthermore, it is said that ignorance up to aging-and-death are merely conventional designations; because their svabhāva is empty, they are now said to be nonexistent. "Exhaustion" means emptiness; since emptiness is also empty, it says there is no exhaustion of ignorance up to no exhaustion of aging-and-death. Existence and emptiness of the twelve links of dependent origination are both nonexistent; by analogy the rest are also like this, which is now indirectly revealed.
