'Form is itself emptiness; emptiness is itself form' refutes the foolish person's grasp that emptiness begins to exist only in the state where form is absent, engaging in various discriminations regarding form and emptiness. Now it is revealed that according to paramārtha-satya, form is originally empty in its intrinsic nature; the states of delusion and awakening differ, and in meaning emptiness and form are shown, so how could it be that emptiness is seen only when form is destroyed? Just as when cataracts cause one to see flowers, their intrinsic nature does not exist—must the flowers be destroyed before emptiness is realized? Therefore, do not give rise to rigid clingings to form and emptiness; one should eliminate inverted views and attain ultimate nirvāṇa.
