'Form is not different from emptiness; emptiness is not different from form' refutes the grasp that apart from conventional, apprehended forms there is a distinct true emptiness. Not awakening to true emptiness, one clings to various forms, falsely multiplying delusions and karmas and wandering in birth-and-death. Now it is revealed that just as the colors of flowers seen due to cataracts occur because of eye disease and do not exist separate from empty space, so according to paramārtha-satya, form is not different from emptiness. As the holy teaching says: 'Phenomena produced from causes and conditions, I declare to be empty.'
