The Praise says: Eliminating doubt and encouraging faith, these words are spoken again. How could he have abandoned the position of a great precious cakravartin, dwelt in the quiet forest and shaved his hair, been praised as the venerable Compassionate Father and King of the Dharma, trodden all paths to raise up praise, and, facing all nāgas and elephants, guided those devas and humans, only to deceive and mislead the multitude of beings? That would truly be impossible. Therefore the sūtra says that the Tathāgata speaks what is true, up to speaking what is not otherwise; therefore one should faithfully accept it and give rise to neither alarm nor doubt.
