問者言：「八地以上唯有智慧，云何有身？」解者言：「本談應身，豈有實報？所以爾者，由曠劫行慈，慈本利物，應身得有，由慈悲力，是故與樂拔苦，不關餘德也。」

The questioner asks: "The eighth ground and above have only wisdom; how can there be a body?" The explainer states: "Originally this discusses the response body; how could there be an actual retribution [body]? The reason it is so is that, owing to practicing compassion through vast kalpas—compassion originally benefiting creatures—the response body is obtained through the power of compassion, and for this reason gives bliss and eradicates suffering, unrelated to other virtues."
