2.17

「是時文殊師利語彌勒菩薩言」，此下竟品是第五答問序。亦有兩段者：第一，竟四十三行偈以來，正答也。第二，從「諸人今當知合掌一心待」下有兩行偈，詺為開㢡物心結答。又此兩段之中各開為二。正答中有二者，第一是長行，第二是偈頌也。開㢡結答中有二者，初偈明好事應來，即是顯一與顯遠；第二偈明惡事當去，即是開三與開近也。不可不專心澍仰，冀聞妙說也。

"At that time Mañjuśrī said to the Bodhisattva Maitreya": from here down to the end of the chapter is the fifth [section], the prologue to answering the question. There are also two sections: First, up to forty-three verses is the formal answer. Second, the two verses below "All of you should now know, / join your palms and wait single-mindedly" are designated as inspiring the minds of beings and concluding the answer. Furthermore, within each of these two sections, it divides into two. In the formal answer there are two parts: the first is the prose, and the second is the verse. In inspiring [beings] and concluding the answer there are two parts: the first verse clarifies that good things will come, which is revealing the One and revealing the remote; the second verse clarifies that bad things will leave, which is opening the three and opening the near. One cannot but concentrate one's mind and look up with devotion, hoping to hear the sublime exposition.
