問者言：「日月燈明佛本因妙光說經，是大乘人因其正說經，今藥王等乃因其流通經，何關因其說經事？今釋迦出定，乃因舍利弗及與彌勒，此豈成同耶？」解釋者言：「當深得其意，此因非對說之因，此乃是憑附之因，因附此人得明此理，故言同也。」

The questioner says: "The Buddha Candrasūryapradīpa originally expounded the sūtra occasioned by Varaprabha, who was a Mahāyāna person occasioned by whom the sūtra was directly expounded. Now, Bhaiṣajyarāja and the others are merely occasioned to disseminate the sūtra; how does that pertain to the matter of being the occasion for expounding the sūtra? Now when Śākya arises from samādhi, it is occasioned by Śāriputra and Maitreya; how could this constitute an identity?" The interpreter says: "One must deeply grasp its meaning. This 'occasion' is not the occasion of being addressed in the exposition; this is an occasion of reliance—relying upon this person, this principle could be illuminated. Therefore they are said to be identical."
