"'Stop, Śāriputra! There is no need to speak further'—this one line is the second, directly clarifying the praise of the beyond-words. 'For what reason?'—from this downward to the end of the prose section is the third, explaining the intended meaning of why it is beyond words: it is simply because the person expounding the two knowledges is exalted and the sphere is profound that it is beyond words. Thus, within this third explanation of the beyond-words, there are naturally two parts: first, citing the exalted person, which is the person who has attained the knowledge; second, the profundity of the sphere that is apprehended. Now, from 'For what reason' to 'can fully penetrate' is designated as citing the exalted person to explain why it is beyond words. 'Stop, Śāriputra! There is no need to speak further' of the two knowledges, expedient and real—why? Only the Buddhas can know the two knowledges, expedient and real; how could he not stop? In citing the exalted person, there are here two things accomplished by the Buddha: first, the rare and difficult-to-understand dharmas first establish the two knowledges; from 'Only a Buddha together with a Buddha' downward directly clarifies the exalted person. From 'the real aspect of all dharmas' downward is the second within the explanation of the beyond-words, citing the profundity of the sphere as the reason why it is beyond words; not only because the person is exalted are the two knowledges subtle and ineffable, but also because the sphere illuminated by the two knowledges is profound, it is beyond words.
