「舍利弗過去諸佛」，此下是第二明過去諸佛開三顯一，此下三佛於六義中唯有二義，只開三顯一，闕無四義，今先明開三也。第二從「是法皆為一佛乘故」下明顯一，此下三佛於顯一中例皆唯有三一，略無因一也。初言「是法皆為一佛乘故」，即是教一也。「是諸眾生從諸佛聞法究竟」，此是人一也。「皆得一切種智」，此是果一也。略無因一也。

'Śāriputra, past buddhas': from here down is the second, explaining past buddhas opening the three and revealing the One. Below this, the [passages on the] three [times of] buddhas have only two meanings among the six meanings; they only open the three and reveal the One, lacking the other four meanings. Now, first explaining opening the three. Second, from 'Because these dharmas are all for the sake of the One Buddha Vehicle' down reveals the One. Below this, the [passages on the] three [times of] buddhas, in their revealing of the One, by rule all possess only three unities, abbreviating and omitting the unity of cause. The initial statement, 'Because these dharmas are all for the sake of the One Buddha Vehicle', is unity of teaching. 'These sentient beings, hearing the Dharma from the buddhas, ultimately': this is unity of persons. 'All attain omniscience': this is unity of fruition. Unity of cause is abbreviated and omitted.
