"His mind was at ease, and he rejoiced and leapt for joy": this is the sixth [section], clarifying that because the elder saw his sons escape the calamity, he rejoiced. This matches above in the "Expedient Means Chapter" the seventh [passage], the two lines and one phrase from "I then thought..." down to "now I rejoice without fear," which clarifies that the Tathāgata rejoiced because he saw the fundamental capacity for the Great Vehicle aroused in the people of the three vehicles. But in the original passage above to be parabled there were two parts: the first two lines clarify the reason that led to the joy, for which no parable is made here; the second, the single phrase "now I rejoice without fear," directly clarifies the rejoicing, and here a parable is directly made for this. Furthermore, because the arousal of the capacity for the Great Vehicle corresponds to the Tathāgata's original intention, his mind was at ease, and he rejoiced and leapt for joy.
