「時有何故不為車體？」解言：「本體緣我生已盡，我不受後有；滅智不然，故不為體。」

[The questioner says:] "If [the knowledge of cessation] exists at that time, why does it not serve as the substance of the cart?" The commentator says: "The primary substance takes as object 'my births have been exhausted; I will not receive further existence'; the knowledge of cessation is not like this, so it does not serve as the substance."
