"Obtaining such a vehicle enables all the Buddha's sons": the three lines below implicitly versify the application of the ninth parable, the sons' joy at obtaining the great cart. The prose above originally did not apply this ninth [parable], but here it is applied implicitly in verse. Within these three lines, the first two lines directly and implicitly versify the aforementioned explanation that practicing the single cause obtains the single fruition, and hence they are definitively joyful. The second part, the one line below "For this reason," clarifies that there is no different cause. Now, as for the first [part], "Riding this jewel vehicle directly to the place of enlightenment," this clarifies that since the Tathāgata has conferred predictions upon the persons of the three vehicles of attaining Buddhahood in the future, at that time the assembly together fixed their minds on the future fruition of Buddhahood, cultivating and advancing toward it; this is precisely riding this jewel vehicle, which is the vehicle of the realm [of truth]. "Directly to the place of enlightenment": all myriad practices lead to the place of enlightenment, but at the time of the vajra-mind, one is closest to Buddhahood, cultivating until reaching the vajra[-mind]; this is the meaning of going directly to the place of enlightenment.
