問者言：「從解空得名，亦應言論義迦旃延乃至言神通目連耶？」解釋者言：「此亦互舉。若必也相兼時，亦應言摩訶須菩提。何以故下三人皆有摩訶之名，而須菩提獨無？故知此互舉兩義雙明。」

The questioner asks: “If the name is derived from understanding emptiness, should one not also say ‘Debating Kātyāyana’ and so forth, down to ‘Supernormal Maudgalyāyana’?” The replier states: “This is also an alternate presentation. If they were necessarily to be combined, one should also say ‘Mahā-Subhūti’. Why is it that the lower three all have the name Mahā-, while Subhūti alone does not? Hence we know that these alternate presentations jointly clarify both meanings.”
