「即滅化城」此下是第五明將至寶所譬，上便集諸菩薩為說大乘《法華》，此中言「寶處在近」即是顯實之義，即是上「唯一佛乘得滅度耳」，亦遠是〈方便品〉中但說無上道義也。「向者大城我所化作」者，即是上法說中「世間無有二乘」句明開權之義，亦遠是〈方便品〉中「正直捨方便」句也。

From "then dissolved the illusory city" onwards is the fifth, clarifying the parable of leading them to the jewel place. Above, he then assembled the bodhisattvas to preach the Mahāyāna Lotus Sūtra for them. Here, the statement "the jewel place is near" represents the meaning of revealing the real, which is the aforementioned "There is only the One Buddha Vehicle through which extinction is attained," and also distantly corresponds to the meaning in the "Chapter on Skilful Means" of preaching only the unsurpassed path. "That great city from before was conjured by me" is the phrase in the exposition by dharma above, "In the world there are no two vehicles," clarifying the meaning of opening the expedient, and it also distantly corresponds to the phrase in the "Chapter on Skilful Means," "honestly setting aside skilful means."
