此品受記之中第二，為學無學人授記，仍為品目也。就此品中自有二段：第一請記，第二佛授記。就請記中自有二，第一阿難、羅睺羅二人請記，第二明二千人請授記。

This is the second chapter among those conferring prophecies, bestowing prophecies on learners and non-learners, which serves as the chapter title. Within this chapter, there are itself two sections: first, requesting prophecies; second, the Buddha bestowing prophecies. Within requesting prophecies, there are itself two parts: first, the two people, Ānanda and Rāhula, requesting prophecies; second, explaining that the two thousand people request the bestowal of prophecies.
