10.118

今當教各判五味。《大經》云：「凡夫如乳，須陀洹如酪，斯陀含如生蘇，阿那含如熟蘇，阿羅漢、支佛、佛如醍醐。」有超果者，即得醍醐；或有味味入者，此即三藏教中三意也。

Now, discerning the five flavors within each specific teaching: The Great Sūtra says: 'Ordinary beings are like milk, srotaāpannas are like curd, sakṛdāgamins are like raw butter, anāgamins are like ripened butter, and arhats, pratyekabuddhas, and Buddhas are like clarified butter.' Those who transcend fruits immediately obtain clarified butter; or there are those who enter flavor by flavor; these are the three intentions within the tripiṭaka teaching.
