10.124

若約二法論開合者，約半滿兩教，初明《華嚴》之滿。若眾生無機，次、約滿開半。次、方等對半明滿。次、般若帶半明滿。次、法華捨半明滿。始則從滿開半，終則廢半歸滿（云云）。

If discussing opening and merging in terms of two dharmas, it is in terms of the two teachings of the semi and the full: first, clarifying the fullness of the *Avataṃsaka*. If sentient beings lack the capacity, next, on the basis of the full, one opens the semi. Next, the Vaipulya clarifies the full in contrast to the semi. Next, the Prajñā clarifies the full while conveying the semi. Next, the Lotus Sūtra discards the semi to clarify the full. In the beginning, from the full one opens the semi; in the end, one abolishes the semi and returns to the full (and so forth).
