他會通：《法華》明二乘作佛，是祕密；《般若》不明二乘作佛，故非祕密。祕密則深，般若則淺。何者？《般若》明菩薩是佛因，於義易解，故非祕密。二乘作佛，與昔教反，於義難解，故是祕密。論云：如用藥為藥，其事易，用毒為藥，其事難（云云）。

Another reconciliation: the *Lotus Sūtra* clarifies that followers of the two vehicles become buddhas, which is secret; the *Prajñā[-pāramitā]* does not clarify that followers of the two vehicles become buddhas, hence it is not secret. Secret is profound; Prajñā is shallow. Why? The *Prajñā[-pāramitā]* clarifies that bodhisattvas are the cause of buddhahood, which is easy to understand in meaning, hence it is not secret. Followers of the two vehicles becoming buddhas is contrary to the former teachings and difficult to understand in meaning, hence it is secret. The treatise says: Using medicine as medicine is an easy matter; using poison as medicine is a difficult matter (and so forth).
