10.188

摩得勒伽說十二部經，唯方廣部是菩薩藏，十一部是聲聞藏。又佛為聲聞菩薩說出苦道，諸集經者，以為菩薩所說為菩薩藏；以為聲聞所說為聲聞藏。龍樹於《大智論》中亦云：「大迦葉與阿難在香山撰集三藏為聲聞藏，文殊與阿難集摩訶衍經為菩薩藏。」《涅槃》亦云：「十一部經為二乘所持，方等部為菩薩所持。」是以依按經論，略唯二種，聲聞藏及菩薩藏也。

The Mātṛkā says that among the twelve divisions of scriptures, only the Vaipulya division is the bodhisattva-piṭaka, while eleven divisions are the śrāvaka-piṭaka. Moreover, the Buddha explained the path of transcending suffering for śrāvakas and bodhisattvas; the compilers of the scriptures took what was explained for bodhisattvas as the bodhisattva-piṭaka, and what was explained for śrāvakas as the śrāvaka-piṭaka. Nāgārjuna also says in the Mahāprajñāpāramitopadeśa: 'Mahākāśyapa and Ānanda compiled the three baskets at Mount Gandhamādana as the śrāvaka-piṭaka; Mañjuśrī and Ānanda compiled the Mahāyāna sūtras as the bodhisattva-piṭaka.' The Nirvāṇa also says: 'The eleven divisions of scriptures are upheld by the two vehicles; the Vaipulya division is upheld by bodhisattvas.' Therefore, relying on the sūtras and treatises, in brief there are only two kinds: the śrāvaka-piṭaka and the bodhisattva-piṭaka.
