五明三諦者，眾經備有其義，而名出《纓珞》，《仁王》謂有諦、無諦、中道第一義諦。今經亦有其義，〈壽量〉云：「非如非異」即中道。如即真，異即俗。

Five, clarifying the three truths: All sūtras possess this meaning, though the term originates in the Yingluo [jing]. The Renwang refers to the truth of existence, the truth of nonexistence, and the Middle Way paramārtha-satya. The present sūtra also possesses this meaning; the 'Lifespan' chapter says: 'Neither such nor different'—this is precisely the Middle Way. 'Such' is the ultimate; 'different' is the conventional.
