4.82

三、天行者，第一義天，天然之理，此語道前；由理成行，此語道中；由行理顯，此語道後。今約由理成行，故言天行。菩薩雖入初地，初地不應住，以有所得故。修上十地慧，十重發真修慧，由理成行，名為天行。天行即智慧莊嚴。上求佛道，故有聖行、天行；下化眾生故，有梵行、病行、嬰兒行也。

Third, as for heavenly practice: the heaven of the paramārtha is the natural principle; this refers to prior to the path. Practice being accomplished by reliance on principle refers to within the path. Principle becoming manifest through practice refers to after the path. Now, taking practice being accomplished by reliance on principle, it is called heavenly practice. Although the bodhisattva enters the first bhūmi, he should not abide in the first bhūmi because of having something attained. Cultivating the wisdom of the higher ten bhūmis, ten times generating the cultivation of true wisdom, practice being accomplished by reliance on principle is called heavenly practice. Heavenly practice is the adornment of wisdom. Seeking the Buddha path above, there are holy practice and heavenly practice; transforming sentient beings below, there are pure practice, sick practice, and infant practice.
