Now, based on the Lotus Sūtra, I explain the perfect five practices. When the five practices are complete and without deficiency within a single mind, it is called the Tathāgata's practice. The text states: 'Adorning oneself with the Tathāgata's adornments' is the perfect holy practice; 'the Tathāgata's room' is the perfect pure practice; 'the Tathāgata's seat' is the perfect divine practice; 'the Tathāgata's robe' is of two kinds: gentleness is the perfect infant practice, and forbearance is the perfect illness practice. These five kinds of practice are the practice of the single real mark. The one does not make five, and the five do not make one; they are neither combined nor separate, inconceivable, and called the 'one-five practices.'
