5.66

又廢位、更入位，廢位、不入位，不廢、不更入，不廢而入。云何廢位更入位？三藏菩薩，廢不斷惑位，入斷惑位。云何廢位不更入位？謂廢位密悟頓者，不入次第位也。云何不廢位不更入位？謂住果二乘是也。云何不廢位而更入位？謂逗後緣者，亦是未廢密悟而入上位也。通教、別教，智位料簡。亦應如此（云云）。

Furthermore, there is abolishing stages and entering stages anew; abolishing stages and not entering stages; not abolishing and not entering anew; and entering without abolishing. What is abolishing stages and entering stages anew? A bodhisattva of the tripiṭaka [teaching] abolishes the stages of not yet severing delusions and enters the stages of severing delusions. What is abolishing stages and not entering stages anew? It refers to those who abolish the stages and covertly awaken to the sudden, not entering the sequential stages. What is not abolishing stages and not entering stages anew? It refers to the two vehicles abiding in the fruit. What is not abolishing stages and entering stages anew? It refers to those who accommodate future conditions, or those who, without yet having abolished [them], covertly awaken and enter higher stages. The discriminating analysis of wisdom and stages in the shared teaching and distinctive teaching should also be like this, and so forth.
