5.69

自有廢修得益。自有訶廢，聞雖不修，而有恥小鄙劣，折其取證之心，亦是有益。又，齊其斷結，謂言無益，迴心入大，即是得益（云云）。

In some cases, benefit is gained by abolishing and cultivating. In other cases, there is rebuking and abolishing: although upon hearing it they do not cultivate, they feel ashamed of the small, contemptible, and inferior, which breaks their mind set on attaining realization—this too is beneficial. Moreover, when their severing of fetters has reached its limit and they consider it to bring no benefit, turning their minds toward the great [vehicle] is precisely the gaining of benefit, and so forth.
