As for *ityuktaka*, there are two kinds: The first is a concluding phrase, stating: 'What I previously promised to preach, I have now finished preaching.' The second is another scripture named *ityuktaka*. Some say: *intyuktaka* (*ityuktaka*) is named outside the Tripiṭaka and the Mahāyāna. What is it? For instance, when King Śuddhodana forced one thousand Śākyas to go forth as monastics, the Buddha selected five hundred people who were capable of attaining the Way, brought them to Śrāvastī, and made them leave their relatives. Śāriputra and Maudgalyāyana instructed them; during the initial, middle, and final watches of the night, they were diligent and did not sleep, feeling the night to be long. Later, having attained the Way, they returned to their native land, and entering the city to beg for food from the Kapilavastu grove fifty li away, they felt the road to be long. At that time, there was a lion who came to pay homage to the Buddha's feet, and for the sake of these three causal conditions, verses were spoken (and so forth). Because it speaks of the original causal conditions of these three matters, it is named *ityuktaka*.
