6.195

四禪、梵王、無想、那含等色天，雖無下界諸苦，而為色所籠。若命盡時，不樂入禪，風觸吹身，唯除眼識，餘皆有苦。其中諸天，先世善根，可發關宜。聖人赴對應之，令獲冥、顯兩益也。

Although the form heavens of the four dhyānas, the Brahmā kings, the non-conceptual heaven, the anāgāmin heaven, and so on are free from the sufferings of the lower realms, they are confined by form. When their lives are ending, they take no joy in entering dhyāna, and winds blow upon and touch their bodies; except for visual consciousness alone, all else entails suffering. If the gods therein have wholesome roots from prior lives that can be stimulated when conditions are fitting, the sages respond accordingly, causing them to obtain both hidden and manifest benefits.
